This exciting tour includes stops in Newgrange, Galway, the Aran Islands, Athlone, and Dublin. See ancient burial mounds that date back 5000 years. Enjoy the coastal city of Galway and a dinner cruise on the River Corrib. Stay in an 18th century stone house that is walking distance to an ancient fort on Inishmore, the largest of the Aran Islands. Eat lunch in the oldest pub in Ireland (and possibly the world). Soak in the rich history of Dublin while on a literary pub crawl. All while meeting new people and being completely taken care of.

Day 1 - Saturday, October 5, 2019: We fly from Charlotte, NC to Dublin, Ireland on American Airlines. M
Day 2 - Sunday: We arrive in Dublin and meet our driver, Owen Linnane. We visit Newgrange, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Newgrange and Knowth are Neolithic Passage Tombs, Ireland’s most significant prehistoric monuments, and among the world’s earliest great pieces of architecture. We stop for lunch on our way to Galway. We have some free time before we have dinner and overnight Galway. BD
Day 3 - Monday: This morning, we take a walking tour of the vibrant city of Galway with a local guide. After we enjoy some free time to relax, eat lunch, shop, and explore Galway on our own. In the evening, we board the Corrib Princess for a dinner cruise and an evening of Irish entertainment. We sail by castles and other historical sites along the majestic River Corrib and onto Lough Corrib, the largest lake in Ireland. We return to Galway for overnight. BD
Day 4 - Tuesday: After breakfast, we depart for Inishmore, the largest of the Aran Islands. We take the ferry from Rossaveal to Kilronan where we meet our coach driver, John O’Donnell, who will transfer us to Kilmurvey House, an 18thcentury stone house. After lunch, we have free time to explore our gorgeous surroundings before enjoying dinner and overnight at Kilmurvey House. BLD
Day 5 - Wednesday: We have breakfast before meeting our guide, Cyril O’Flaherty, a native and expert of the Aran Islands. Cyril leads us on a tour of Dun Aengus, the Iron Age fort built as four concentric stone walls. The fort has been called the “most magnificent barbaric monument in Europe.” We continue on a hike around the cliffs of this magnificent island. We return to Kilmurvey House for a homemade lunch. We have some free time to explore and rest before we have dinner and overnight at Kilmurvey House. BLD
Day 6 - Thursday: This morning, we bid farewell to Inishmore and take the morning ferry back to Galway where we meet our driver. We stop on the way at Athlone Castle. We experience an immersive journey through 5,000 years of history at the Castle Visitor Centre located on the banks of the River Shannon in the heart of Ireland’s Ancient East. After, we visit Sean's Bar in Athlone, the oldest pub in Ireland, where we have lunch at our own expense. We continue to Dublin where we visit Pearse Lyons Distillery, one of Dublin’s newest distilleries built in the remains of St. James Church. We get an insight into the whiskey heritage and stories behind the iconic Dublin district known as The Liberties. We have dinner and overnight in Dublin. BD
Day 7 - Friday: After breakfast, we have a guided walking tour of Dublin taking in some of the most historic sights and landmarks. We enjoy a free afternoon to further explore Dublin. This evening, we meet at the Duke’s Pub in Centre of Dublin. We join in a Literary Pub Tour of Dublin where our ‘actor’ guide quotes at ease from Joyce, Behan, Beckett, Yeats, and even James Larkin and Flann O'Brien. We spend our last night in Ireland in Dublin. BD
Day 8 - Saturday, October 12, 2019: We depart early for our flight home to Charlotte. BM

If a roommate is requested and a roommate cannot be found, the single supplement will be added to your final payment invoice.
* Price includes airline taxes and fuel surcharges and is subject to change until the airline tickets are issued. Any changes will be reflected on your final invoice. Tips for the driver and guide that are not included and are payable upon completion of services. Price is based on an exchange rate of $1.13 to the Euro and will change only if the rate changes. Optional activities and sites visited during your free time are not included in the cost of the pilgrimage and are to be paid for at the time of your visit.

General Information Terms and Conditions
AIR TRANSPORTATION: Round trip economy airline reservations on regularly scheduled airlines.
HOTELS: Rooms with private bath/shower based on double occupancy (two persons sharing). Hotel rating - Deluxe, First Class, Superior Tourist or Tourist are used unless otherwise specified by leader (hotel category is chosen by the group leader). Guest Houses, Retreat Centers & Bed and Breakfasts may have communal rooming arrangements and facilities. Single room accommodation is subject to a surcharge. Hotels are subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances.
SIGHTSEEING: As indicated in the itinerary, with licensed English speaking guides unless otherwise determined by the leader. Entrance fees as indicated are included.
DEPOSITS AND PAYMENT: Deposits are required at time of registration and balance is due 90 days prior to departure.
CANCELLATIONS: Must be made in writing. Cancellation penalties are determined by the penalties imposed upon Worldwide Journeys by the airline carrier, the ground operator, coach company, and hotels. Cancellation penalties will be listed on your invoice and/or on your itinerary or application. Cancellation penalty will be a specific amount plus any unrecoverable charges imposed by our suppliers. Within 90 days of departure, NO REFUNDS. Earlier non-refundable cancellation penalty may apply to your specific itinerary. Dates will be listed on your brochure and/or application.
INSURANCE: Worldwide Journeys acts only as an agent for suppliers and is not responsible for any theft, damage, loss of luggage or illness. The forms for insurance coverage are offered to all registrants prior to departure.
UNUSED TOUR ARRANGEMENTS: Refunded only when agreed to by hotel, coach company, or other providers.
BAGGAGE: Major airlines change their rules regarding checked and hand luggage constantly. Please check with each carrier personally to be sure you are getting the most up to date information. Excess baggage charges are very expensive so be sure to weigh and measure your luggage to avoid a big surprise at the check-in counter.
NOT INCLUDED: Passport, visa fees, excess baggage charges, baggage or personal insurance, inoculations, laundry, telephone charges, tips for the driver and guide, food and beverage other than those provided on regular menus as provided by Worldwide Journeys.
RESPONSIBILITY: Worldwide Journeys of Jacksonville, Florida acts only as agents for passengers and for companies, owners or contractors providing transportation and accommodations or other services of the tour. Worldwide Journeys, travel agent, shall not be liable for any loss or damage to baggage or property; or for injury, illness or death or for any damages or claims whatsoever arising from loss, negligence or delay from the act, error, or negligence of anyone not a direct employee under its exclusive control. Transportation companies, airlines, etc. are not to be held responsible for any act, omission or event during the time passengers are not on airplane transportation or conveyances. Passenger contracts in use by the airlines or transportation companies when used constitute the sole contract between the airline, the transportation company, and passenger or purchaser of the tour, and Worldwide Journeys assumes no responsibility for this connection.
DEVIATIONS: Deviations by individuals to the set itinerary will be provided if possible at a charge of $100 per person plus any charges imposed by airlines, hotels, or other vendors.
